Shipwright Work
Rails - Galleys - Repairs - New Construction

At 18, a job with Hattaras Yacht gave Tom a love and interest in boat building. This gave him the drive to seek out not only work, but work with many old and new school builders in the boating world. Names including: Buddy Davis, Taylor Harrison, Alex Willis, Tom Noeker, Craig Blackburn and many others helped to hone Tom’s abilities as a boat builder as well as an artist.

In 1991, boat building landed Tom a 1st mate position for a Capt. Elmer Seaman. This took him to Key West, Fl. and on to 12 countries and 24,000 nautical miles crossing the Atlantic Ocean twice on Seaman’s ketch. In Key West, he met Mally Weaver and decided to stay set up his own wood shop and join the following galleries: The Guild Hall Gallery, The Key West Art Center, Debra Butler Design Center, Cindy’s Seam Shop Gallery & Artists in Paradise in Big Pine Key.

From teak decks on yachts to small simplistic Jamaican Dogwood benches; from 108 foot varnished toe rails to small mahogany plates for utilitarian use. From uniquely carved women figures to custom galley cabinets and custom counter tops.
